Know Before You Go: Vaccines for International Travel are now available in Stuart

By Renay Rouse

June 07, 2018

As residents begin planning and departing for summer adventures, the Florida Department of Health in Martin County is urging residents to be sure their immunizations are up to date, especially for travel out of the country.

The health department in Stuart now offers travel vaccines for children and adults. Vaccines are a safe and effective way to protect against disease, especially in high risk areas. Travelers are encouraged to check the recommended or required vaccines as soon as travel plans are made, as it may take several weeks for the vaccines to become effective. To schedule an appointment or learn more, call 772-221-4000, ext. 2242 or log on to www.MartinCountyHealth.com

Due to a manufacturer shortage, the health department is unable to provide the yellow fever vaccine. A link to yellow fever vaccination clinics can be found on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website.
