The Florida Department of Health in Martin County is recognizing World AIDS Day by providing free HIV and STD testing on Friday, December 2, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at 3441 SE Willoughby Blvd., Stuart. HIV test results are available within 15 minutes.

World AIDS Day is held in December to raise awareness about AIDS, show support for those who are living with HIV/AIDS and remember those lost who have lost the battle with the illness.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), more than one million people in the United States are living with HIV infection and 1 in 8 are unaware that they have the virus.
