(Martin County, FL) - Preparations are underway at the Florida Department of Health in Martin County on Willoughby Boulevard in Stuart to connect and power up a new generator. The process will begin after 5:00 pm on Friday, May 8 and continue through Saturday afternoon, May 9.

The installation of the generator takes place just in time for hurricane season and will help ensure continuity of services, should a loss of power occur.

The installation process will require that all power to the building be disconnected, which will temporarily disable phone lines. To ensure continuity of service, all incoming calls will be re-directed to the on call answering service beginning on Friday at 5:00 pm and continuing through Monday morning.

Anyone needing to reach a member of the health department staff this weekend, should call the on call answering service directly at 1-866-793-2413.
