April is STD Awareness Month

(Martin County, FL) – In recognition of STD Awareness Month, the Florida Department of Health in Martin County is hosting free testing for STDs (sexually transmitted diseases) and HIV.

Free testing, education and counseling is available at the Health Department on Wednesday, April 15 and Monday, April 27, 9:00 am – 2:00 pm at 3441 SE Willoughby Blvd., Stuart. No appointment is needed. For more information: 772-221-4000.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 20 million STDs occur in the United States annually, with half occurring among young people under the age of 25.
