Free Rapid HIV Testing

(Martin County, FL) – In recognition of National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, the Florida Department of Health is offering a series of free rapid HIV testing events during the month of February. No appointment is needed and results are available in 15 minutes. All residents, 18 years or older can participate in the testing.

National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day was established raise awareness of the virus in the African American community, a racial group most affected by HIV in the United States. Data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) show that Blacks make up only 12% of the U.S. population, but have had nearly half of the all new infections of the United States.
