Nick Clifton

Nick Clifton, Administrator/Health Officer

Nick Clifton was appointed as the Health Officer for the Florida Department of Health in Martin County in April 2024. Mr. Clifton began his career with the Department in Hillsborough County in 2008 as an Environmental Health Specialist. In 2010, he returned home to Martin County to serve in various Environmental Health and Emergency Preparedness roles until he became the Director of the Environmental Health Division in 2020. He holds professional certifications in food protection, onsite wastewater, and a Six Sigma Green Belt in Health Care.

Nick has assisted with leading the Department of Health in Martin County through multiple hurricane activations, responses to public health threats, and community-based outreach initiatives.

Nick graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and earned a Master of Health Administration from Florida Atlantic University.

With childhood roots in Martin County, Mr. Clifton strives to create and maintain strong partnerships, encourage healthy lifestyles, and support initiatives that promote, protect and improve health in the community.
