September 14, 2021

The Florida Department of Health in Martin County (DOH-Martin) is working with state and local partners to ensure the COVID-19 vaccine is available for everyone age 12 and older.

Free vaccination is available at a series of outreach events throughout the county and no appointment is needed. Children and adolescents, age 12 to 17 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. A third dose of the Pfizer vaccine is also available for moderate to severe immunocompromised individuals who have completed the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine series.

“With the approach of the holiday season, we expect to see yet another spike in COVID-19 cases, so now is a good time to get vaccinated and get protected.” said Carol Ann Vitani, Health Officer for the Florida Department of Health in Martin County. “Taking action now can help ensure a healthier holiday season. COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective at helping to protect against severe disease and death.”

In addition, persons who are fully vaccinated may be exempt from quarantine if exposed to a positive case and remain asymptomatic.

First and second doses of the vaccine are available at these Martin County school locations. In addition, the COVID-19 vaccine is available via retail pharmacies, private healthcare providers and the health department. DOH-Martin is offering the vaccine by appointment. Call 772-221-4000, option # 3 to schedule.
