Epidemiology

Florida Department of Health in Martin County

Our Epidemiology Division works to protect and promote the health of our residents and visitors. The division staff are responsible for monitoring disease trends and investigating outbreaks and single cases of reportable conditions, such as vaccine preventable diseases, viral hepatitis, enteric infections, and vector borne diseases, with the goal of preventing the spread of disease in our community.   Our staff collect, analyze, and disseminate public health data as appropriate, and provide information and support to healthcare providers in the management of diseases of public health importance.

Florida Charts provide a great variety of health indicators for all counties, including infectious diseases data.

Physicians, Laboratories and Hospitals have requirements to notify the Health Department of Reportable Diseases and Conditions.
