Group Care Facilities

The Florida Department of Health does not license group care facilities but does inspect these facilities through interagency agreements and 381.006(16) Florida Statute.

It is recommended that you contact the Florida Department of Health in Martin County (772-221-4090) and speak with the Group Care Coordinator about your proposed facility before you commence construction. The Group Care Coordinator will provide you with the necessary plan review application forms and briefly explain the role of the health department and requirements for your specific establishment.

Prior to the inspection, applicants submit the following to the Florida Department of Health for review:  a completed plan review application, a complete set of site plans and floor plans, the plan review fee and the inspection fee.
