According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, vehicle injuries are the leading cause of death among children in the United States.

One of first steps to ensuring that your child is safe inside a car is to ensure that they are secured in the correct car seat for their weight and age and that the seat is properly installed.

The Florida Department of Health in Martin County is proud to partner with Cleveland Clinic Martin Health and Safe Kids Treasure Coast to offer free car seat safety checks. The event will take place on Saturday, September 21 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm, Cleveland Clinic Martin North Hospital, 501 Osceola Street on the west side of the parking garage. Residents are asked to bring the owner’s manual for the vehicle and the car seat. No appointments are needed. A limited number of free car seats are available for those in need. For more information, call 772-345-8100 ext. 16687
